Back in the Game

Union Made 2013

This past Sunday was Union Made! Aside from the small winter trunk show type event at Gather Here back before the holidays, this was my first fair in over a year! I took 2012 as a breather. I focused on painting and growing Egg-A-Go-Go online while analyzing what exactly I was planning to do with my little business.

Turns out, I definitely still want to do the occasional fair. I had so much fun yesterday. It was long and hot and there was all of the usual outdoor-in-the-city craziness that happens but it was amazing.

I shared a booth with Jen and had a big seconds sale to clear out some old slightly imperfect stock.

The bands were so great.

I drank too much iced tea but successfully avoided getting a sunburn.

Selling in person is exhausting and exciting and a little intimidating but it's always so great to talk to folks and to hear firsthand what they think about your work. And I don't know if I could ever give it up seeing as how 1) I organize these things! and 2) Selling at craft fairs is how this all started for me back in 2004!

As I'm unpacking and re-inventorying, I am getting so excited for Bazaar Bizarre and for the re-branding I was already planning for Egg-A-Go-Go.

Onwards and upwards!

  1. I don't think I could ever give up shows. When I had my 2 years off between businesses I craved doing shows. Now I basically am doing a show each weekend, the farmer's market. Its so exciting and fun to see new people. Farmer's Market vending is a little different. Not the mad rush of a show, but still so much fun!

Good luck with everything, maybe this year Kevin and I can get out to the Boston Bizarre to see everyone
