Making the Gradient

Lately I can't get enough of gradients in nature. I've been seeing them everywhere in flowers and have been on the lookout for a subtle change in color or tone in other places too...
Here are a couple I've spotted 'in the wild':

    I have that first one, butterfly bush! So pretty and fragrant!!

      It's so enchanting! And I think it comes in many colors. I want some for next year's garden.

    oh that butterfly bush is amazing! i actually bought one last weekend but mine is a very very deep plum color. what are the flowers in the second picture?
