Curtis and I had a quick dinner at Pavement on Boylston Street before heading to The Royale to see The Walkmen last night. The cafe was showing work by Alexa Guariglia which was enthralling. (I cannot find any info on online but her/his? card has an email address)
Huge, patient works in media that can be so loose and transparent are so mysterious to me. I've painted large in oils but to use such a soft, vulnerable technique on wall-sized paper is out of my league. So many perfect, tiny (in the scale of the entire piece) little lines and so much texture. I love these.
